Raised in Severn, MD, Dr. Dorsey subsequently graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Morehouse College. For his academic achievement, he was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He went on to medical school at the University of Connecticut. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. There he served as Chief Resident prior to beginning his cardiovascular training. For his fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases, he trained at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. During his last year of training, he served as Chief Fellow. After several years of developing his practice in Atlanta, he joined Atlanta Heart Specialists in 2008.
Dr. Dorsey holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography.
During his career he has extended his time to the community. He has been involved with mentoring and speaking at churches, elementary schools and high schools in Hartford, CT. He has also provided medical services in a homeless shelter in Atlanta.
His hospital affiliations include Dekalb Medical Center, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, and Dekalb Medical at Hillandale. Dr. Dorsey performs cardiac catheterization, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear stress testing and consultations.
His clinical interests include primary and secondary prevention of ischemic heart disease and management of congestive heart failure.
He personally enjoys family life, fishing, driving, and participating in and spectating sports.
